Chamber Hosts Annual Partners in Education Breakfast 

Guntersville, Ala.- The annual Partners in Education Breakfast was held the morning of Wednesday, May 6, bringing together educators, students, business leaders, and community partners to highlight the continued success and growth of Guntersville City Schools.

The event featured a catered breakfast provided by Gunter’s Landing and opened with a welcome from Chamber President Morri Yancy. Guntersville Middle School (GMS) teacher Mitchell Morgan delivered the invocation, followed by GMS student Mack McCormack leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

The program included remarks from Presenting Sponsor representative Tracy Stuart, COO of Marshall Medical Centers, as well as John Davis Rollings, 2026 Chamber Board Chairman and Communications Director for Guntersville City Schools, who introduced the morning’s speakers.

Dr. Brad Cooper, Andy Petty, and Mitchell Morgan presented Guntersville City Schools’ academic progress, student leadership, and innovative programs. Coach Petty discussed the ACT Team’s purpose, goals, incentives for testing, and the 15.85% improvement from last year to this year in testing scores. Mr. Morgan highlighted the Greenhouse Student Leadership Team’s hands-on management of the GMS greenhouse, from sowing seeds to selling plants in the community.

Special recognition was given to the event’s sponsors. Platinum Sponsors included Farm Fresh Foods, C.A. Langford Company, Electric Board of Guntersville, and Guntersville Water Board. Gold Sponsors included Emblem Credit Union, Farmers Telecommunications Cooperative, Martin Freeman, Kappler Inc., Jane Kohl, Little Critters Pediatric Dentistry, and Sand Mountain Toyota.

The Chamber and Guntersville City Schools expressed appreciation for the continued partnership between education and the local business community, emphasizing the shared commitment to preparing students for future success.
