Volunteer Fair, at Guntersville Public Library

June 17, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Guntersville Public Library’s Summer Reading theme for 2023 is “All Together Now.” In line with that message of community & kindness, the library will be hosting a Volunteer Fair on Saturday, June 17th from 1:00-4:00. Non-profits will have a chance to recruit preteen and/or teen volunteers to their organizations. Many clubs and organizations teens participate in require volunteer hours, and it is hoped this will provide a chance to connect volunteers needing hours to organizations needing volunteers.

Space is limited, so, if you’re interested, please Volunteer Fair Application to Cassandra Brindle at cassandra@guntersvillelibrary.org, or drop it off in person at the library (1240 O’Brig Avenue.) The deadline to submit your applications is March 24.

In addition, the library will be encouraging participants in the Children & Teen Summer Reading program to visit local businesses as one of the optional goals alongside their reading goals. The intention is to ask them to visit at least three locally owned businesses and to bring back a business card from each to prove they went. The library will also encourage them to leave an online review on their preferred platform if they enjoyed their visit. Upon completion, they will receive the associated button badge to add to their collection of 2023 Summer Reading buttons.

If you are interested in learning more about the Summer Reading program and how you can support it, please contact Cassandra at cassandra@guntersvillelibrary.org.
