SUMMARY:Kay Ledbetter Quilt Exhibit & Snead State Art Students Exhibit\, by Mountain Valley Arts Council
DESCRIPTION:Mountain Valley Arts Council is pleased to present a solo exhibit of quilts by Linda Kay Ledbetter as well as an exhibit featuring works by Snead State Community College Arts Students\, taught by Art Instructor Lanette Blankenship\, MFA.  This exhibit is called “Artistry Nexus: A Collective Showcase of Instructor and Student Talents”. \nBoth events will run March 5 – April 27. The artists’ reception is Tuesday\, March 12 from 5:30 – 7pm. \n     \nThe 23 Snead State students who are participating include: \nMarianna Aguilar\, Maria Chandler\, Natalie Creel\, Keana Cruz\, Eddie Dingler\, Langley Driskell\, Kelly Garcia\, Robeth Hammons\, Marcelita Lopez Godinez\, Scarlett Lorance\, Johana Lugo Galvan\, Luis Ramos Perez\, Daniela Rios Guzman\, Zoe Smith\, Leah Smyly\, Lucas Stone\, Lillian Thompson\, Brianna Vasquez\, Emallie Wagnon\, Jason Watts\, Jacie White\, Laura Whitmire\, Kaitlyn Willis. \nLanette Blankenship is in her second year as the full-time Art Instructor presiding over Snead State Community College’s Art Department in the Fine Arts Division in Boaz\, Alabama. \nThese exhibits are free to the public\, but donations to support the arts are gladly accepted. The exhibits are sponsored through grants from City of Guntersville and generous businesses and members of MVAC.

DESCRIPTION:Mark your Thursday evenings for fun listening to great live music and chatting with your friends. Spring concert series is held on Thursdays from 6:30 – 8:30 PM\n\n\nThe next concert of Mountain Valley Arts Council’s Fall Concert Series is the Emily Joseph Band which has been a huge crowd pleaser in previous years.  This outdoor concert will be held Thursday\, April 25th\, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Errol Allan Park in downtown Guntersville. Bring your fans\, folding chairs\, and friends.  Lena’s Rolling Kitchen will be available. \nThe Emily Joseph Band performs a variety of cover songs from the 1970s to Top 10 hits of today. With 20 plus years of experience in live performing\, Emily Joseph Band’s strong vocals\, musicianship\, and ability to command the attention of an audience is exceptional. Her outstanding vocal talent and enthusiastic stage presence presents an exciting and entertaining performance from start to finish. Emily’s early beginnings as a jazz vocalist gave her an appreciation for all types of music. \nAlways giving more than 100% for an audience\, her confidence radiates during her performances\, and her wide range and strong voice allows her to make an audience marvel at her versatility. \nIf rain is in the forecast as it was last week\, check MVAC’s Facebook page or website at mvacarts.org to see if the concert has been moved indoors such as to Guntersville Town Hall on Blount Avenue. \nThis concert is free and open to the public through generous donations from the audience\, MVAC members and corporate donors\, Alabama State Council on the Arts\, and the City of Guntersville. \n\n\n\n  \n\nBring your folding chairs\, blankets or fans\, and friends.\n\n\nDonations for these free concerts is appreciated as well as the grants from Alabama State Council on the Arts and City of Guntersville and generous businesses and MVAC Members.\n\n\n\nApril 25 – Emily Joseph Band (Rock)\n\nMay 2 – Los Amigos (mariachi music for Cinco de Mayo)\nMay 9 – Foster\nMay 16 – Monkey Business
